Defining evaluation criteria for Health Information Systems using Human, organization and technology-fit factors (HOT-fit): systematic review

Introduction: The purpose of this study is to conduct a review of a series of published studies on evaluation of health information systems in order to determine the criteria of evaluation of hospital information systems using HOT-fit framework Information sources or data: The present study is a review study to evaluate articles of English databases PubMed, scupos and Persian databases Irandoc, Sid, Magiran using keywords Evaluation of Health Information System, Hospital Information System, Electronic Health Record, and Case Health Informatics Searched. Selection methods for study: After reviewing and screening the article title and abstract, 18 articles were selected and reviewed. For screening articles, searching from 2000 to 2018, topic-related articles, access to full-text articles were used. Combine content and results: After searching and screening the articles, 18 articles were selected and analyzed. Finally, 130 benchmarks were obtained from four different technical, organizational, human and net profit dimensions. Of the 130 criteria, 51 were related to the technical dimension, about 36 to the organizational dimension, 33 to the human dimension, and 10 to the net profit dimension. Information extracted from the articles included the authorchr('39')s name, year, article title, type of study, study contributors, article scope, and geographical area, a summary of which is shown in the table below Conclusion: In this comprehensive review, it is attempted to provide a comprehensive look at the evaluation of hospital information systems using the HOT-fit model. In addition, in this study, the evaluation framework is adjusted based on the opinions of experts and the general principles of the HOT-fit model.
